About Me
Dr. Hyeongmo Koo is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geoinformatics at the University of Seoul, Korea. His research interests lie in Geographic Information Science (GIS) and spatial data analysis. Specific research topics are developing spatial data analysis methods, visualizing and modeling spatial data uncertainty, exploring urban issues including public health, housing, crime, and population migration, and analyzing hydrological and environmental models incorporating data and model uncertainties. He has developed the related tools using the .NET framework (C#) and/or the R statistical language (See more in the GIS application page).
He received my Ph.D. in the Geospatial Information Sciences (GIS) from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2018 (B.A. 2005 and M.A. 2010 from Seoul National University, Korea). He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Key Laboratory of Virtual Geographic Environment at Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China (2018-2020), and a Research Associate in Korea Center for City and Environment Research, Seoul, Korea (2020-2021).
